Penang, 15 March 2019 – Imagine indulging in fine cuisine surrounded by heritage architecture while enjoying the magnificent views of the Andaman Sea.  

This is exactly what the Eastern & Oriental (E&O) Hotel offers at its Planters Lounge and Poolside Terrace now.

Located on the sixth floor of the Victory Annexe, the once exclusive dining area for hotel guests is now open to diners following the closure of other dining options at the Heritage Wing – The 1885, Sarkies Corner and Farquhar Bar for refurbishment works.

Diners with fancy taste buds can indulge in the English Afternoon Tea and pastries while enjoying the feel of the good old colonial days with friends and family.

Tempting diners further is the Express Lunch – the tiffin lunch ala peranakan of assorted traditional side dishes served with rice and refreshing beverages. Alternatively, diners can also choose their favourite dishes from the ala-carte menu.

Couples in the mood for a romantic candlelight dinner can also do so against the beautiful backdrop of the Andaman Sea.

Hotel general manager Alison Fraser said this makes a perfect opportunity for those who have yet to visit the Planters Lounge and Poolside Terrace to come and dine at the outlet. 

“The Planters Lounge has been an in-house guest experience for the past six years and not many have had the chance to dine here let alone take in the magnificent view that it has to offer,” she said.

The Planters Lounge and Poolside Terrace are open daily from 11am to 12am.
